After a few long months full of excitement and anticipation and obviously some nausea, the wait is finally over. You are in your last month of pregnancy and the time to meet your baby is finally here! As exciting as it could be, being a new parent is also a daunting experience. There are so many things you need to do before you welcome another person into the world and into your family. It is important to make the most of the last month of pregnancy while you can and before everything changes.
Here are some things that you should do during the last month of pregnancy to help you get ready for your little one:
Shopping for stuff
You have probably already picked out cribs and strollers for your baby. If not, the last month is a good time to make these purchases. Buy sufficient nappies and clean clothes for your baby as one can never have too many clean clothes when a newborn baby is around the corner.
Get enough sleep
It might be a while till you get to properly catch up on sleep after your little one comes along. A new baby in the house means saying goodbye to all of your regular sleep schedules or actually any sleep at all. Try to catch in as many sleeping days as possible before normal bedtime becomes a distant fantasy.
Enjoy some alone time
You and your partner should consider taking some time off, just by yourself before your family expands and the concept of alone time flies out of the window, at least for a couple of years. This could be your chance of a last romantic getaway before welcoming another person into the family.
Is your hospital bag ready?
Before leaving for the hospital, you must prepare your hospital bag for the visit which should have your medical records, comfortable maternity clothes, breastfeeding bras or shirts, nappies, toiletries, socks, etc. This will come in handy for your trip to the hospital visit and during labor.
Once your baby comes along, you are going to be knee deep in soiled diapers and baby powder and cerelac. It will be a while till you get to go and get a spa or are able to just pamper yourself. As the due date approaches, it is best to take some time off to pamper yourself and get ready for the adventure that is about to begin. Many expecting mothers enjoy massages or pedicures or just a new haircut before the arrival of the baby.
Pick out a paeditrician
One of the most important things to do before your baby comes along is to find the right paeditrician who is qualified and can be trusted. If a good doctor is picked out before time, it will help you from a lot of panic-stricken situations for when your baby finally arrives.
